How to rotate PDF pages for free
Written and maintained by PrivyPDF ยท Last updated October 4, 2026
Fix sideways scans and document orientation in a browser while keeping the original PDF unchanged.
Common reasons to rotate a PDF
Scanners, phone cameras, and mixed-orientation exports can leave pages sideways or upside down. Rotating the document before sharing makes it easier to read on a phone and avoids forcing every recipient to adjust their viewer.
Rotate the document
Add the PDF to PrivyPDF and choose 90, 180, or 270 degrees clockwise. The tool applies the selected rotation to every page and downloads a new PDF. The original file remains unchanged, so you can try again with a different angle if the first result is not correct.
Review mixed documents
The simple rotation workflow applies one angle to all pages. If a document contains both portrait and landscape pages that need different corrections, process those groups separately or use a PDF editor that supports per-page rotation. Always check tables, signatures, and page labels after rotation.
Local processing and limits
The rotation is performed in your browser. No upload is required, but the browser still needs enough memory to read and write the PDF. Password-protected or damaged files may not open. Keep the source copy until you have verified the downloaded result.
PrivyPDF processes files locally in your browser. Keep your original files until you have reviewed the downloaded result.
